Critical Role Season 3 Episode 49: Release Date, Preview & Where To Watch

The D&D series, Critical Role will soon be releasing a new adventurous episode this week. With Matthew Mercer as the DM, the show is a campaign that takes place in the continent of Marquet. The last few episodes have been filled with mysteries and dangers that the Fey Realm brings to the group as they try to get ahold of the Key along with many other magical objects.

First seen on October 21st, 2021, the third campaign stars voice actors that have acted in previous campaigns such as Exandria Unlimited. The adventure started with different characters collecting on a mountain of Jrusar to fight what they think are very distinct enemies.

As they fight together, these groups start to act as one strong unit but soon find themselves facing immense danger. After losing one of their close comrades, the group’s determined to avenge the death and fall deeper into the mystery of Jrusar.

After almost 50 episodes, the show now has 8 characters along with Matthew as the Dungeon Master. These characters and their voice actors include Ashley Johnson as Fearne Calloway, Travis Willingham as Chetney Pock O’Pea, Laura Bailey as Imogen Temult, Liam O’Brien as Orym of the Air Ashari, Taliesin Jaffe as Ashton Greymoore, Marisha Ray as Laudna, and Sam Riegel as Fresh Cut Grass.

The players are all diverse in power and origin and form a strong unit that has good strengths as well as strategies. Fearne’s a Faun Druid or Rogue, Chetney’s a Gnome blood hunter, Imogen’s character is a Human sorcerer, and Orym’s a Halfling fighter. Ashton is an Earth Genasi Barbarian and Laudna is a sorcerer as well.

What Happened in Critical Role Season 3 Episode 48?

The previous episode featured Bells Hells entering the Fey Realm and coming across Fearne’s life and her eccentric upbringing. They then try to travel through the realm without creating any disturbance to avoid any monsters or dangerous beings. Their goal was to destroy the Malleus Key, and soon after succeeding in their goals, they decide to leave the realm but see that it’s much harder with so many threats being after them.

They stay hidden in the forest and try to distract the threats. They decide to distract using a ranged spell, that would be cast by Imogen. She uses a Sorcery point to double the distance towards the east.

The changebringer’s roll lands them in the right direction and they keep running until they hear the dragon coming back and trying to find them through the forest. Chetney blows the horn and the dragon leaves in the opposite direction.

Bells Hells continue their journey and fall into the ground that’s 15 feet below, but are saved due to feather falling protection on some of them. Orym takes the charge but sees the dragon circling them. They get closer to the tower and try to get closer without triggering the magic.

Bells Hells then come across a shrine kind of site that is now in remains. Gloamglut, the dragon seems to be at their back at all times, making them move with stealth at all times.

The episode then continues to talk about the adversities and different kinds of creatures they come across as they go through the Fey Realm. Soon they come across a less dangerous and calming forest. Bluff oaks seem to be indigenous to this area and the flora is familiar as well, making the group comfortable knowing they aren’t in an alien place.
